An unsolved death of over thirty years ago still bothered Alan Nesbitt, Dorothy Martin's now-retired chief constable husband. Dorothy decides they need a vacation from Englands rain so what better place than Cornwall where the sun was shining. It was quite a cozy mystery. Being that the protagonist and her husband her husband were older, I found some of the things they referred to in the book as a walk down memory lane. The problem with this book was that I got too attached to the murder victim, and her death was painful. Murder mysteries are only fun with a certain detachment from the victim.

To a lesser degree, this was also a problem with Killing Cassidy.

Dorothy Martin and Alan Nesbitt, Dorothy's now retired chief constable husband decide to take a vacation to look into an unsolved mystery that had happened more than thirty years earlier. In fact, it has been raining for days. They start talking about his career as a Chief Constable and he tells Dorothy about a case he had thirty years ago that he could not solve and it still bothers him.

The girl had been about twenty years old with long blond hair and her body was found a few days after she fell from the cliffs to her death on the rocks below. The action of the water and sea life made Dorothy and Alan are in their home in Sherebury, England and the rain is falling and falling. Upon entering Penzance they came into contact with other people on holiday. Among those people were an elderly woman and her daughter. Strange observations about that pair stood out in Dorothy's mind.
